Intentions of My Actions
I was on the Bible app this morning trying different avenues to spend my time with God and I must say the app is doing an amazing job. It makes it so easy to incorporate Him in to our daily lives.
I was listening to a teaching clip by Nona Jones and it really gave me some things to reflect on as I am going through my days. The message was based in this scripture:
“ I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings” - Jeremiah 17:10
So many times I have used the phrase “God knows my heart” as a pass or excuse for doing something wrong or justification for something not coming out the right way. Reading this scripture and listening to Nona’s message, opened my eyes to getting into better alignment with what is in my heart and my actions.
I ask God to renew my mind, cleanse my heart and to make me more like Him (a better person) in my prayer life. However, I will be adding to that prayer for my actions (doings) to reflect purely what is in my heart so that people will see His glory in my life. It’s not to get anything from Him, but I wholeheartedly want others to see Him before they see me by how I live my life.
It isn’t easy and the path is narrow, but with keeping Him as priority and walking with Him daily, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Be encouraged today to really think before your outward actions. Be sure it is a reflection of what’s truly in your heart or pray that God helps you to communicate/express things that won’t get lost in translation.
Don’t forget to pray for the cleansing of your heart because God searches it and He knows what’s there. For what is in our hearts, is what we manifest in our lives. I know if we do the work and seek His help in that cleansing process, the more our actions will align with our new hearts through Christ.
Keep your actions and intentions pure my friends.
